MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jan 11 Observer(s): scharf, helfand & glikman Institution(s): Columbia, NY Instrument: 8K camera Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 01:00 until 04:30. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 2+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Observed approx 5 hours until cloud cover increased from south west & seeing very poor in latter part of observations, 2-3 arcsec. Minor problem with telescope periodically (3-4 times over observing period refusing to move for small (sub-degree) moves, work around was to slew a degree or more with paddle and then attempt to re-aquire target with TCS.
