MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jan 24 Observer(s): Marianne Vestergaard Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing ~2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing ~3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, humidity rising,se End: Seeing 3.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, humidity <=80%,see Observing Summary: Clear, but possible very thin cirrus present at times. Seeing very unstable and large (ca. 3arcsec most of the night). Humidity rose steadily throughout the night, but never above 83% (at about 4-5am). Dome didn't go back to contact point at shutdown. This was corrected by using the `enable dome' (yellow) button and a manual override. However, after having closed the done hatch a humming sound remains which reminds me of a motor which is still running. I tried resetting this by opening the hatch again, but it remains. Is that the noise of the mirror A/C? I haven't noticed earlier. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Jan 25 [7:56:59]
