MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jun 29 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle Worked for 8.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A mixed night; started fairly clear, with seeing mediocre but not dreadful, but ended with lots of heavy high cloud and fairly awful seeing. The temperature profile of the night was a little jagged, which seems to explain the seeing. Cataclysmic period and ephemeris work, most of the data seem usable. Tony tightened up the RA drive a bit today, and the stuck-telescope problems of the last nights did not recur. Ran on generator again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Jun 30 [4:57:07]
