MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jun 30 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec+echelle Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Another partly cloudy night, luckily with rather long clear intervals. Stopped work for about half an hour around midnight when clouds got particularly thick. Seeing, however, was good to excellent, which compensated some for the cloud and bright moon (81 percent illuminated at midnight). No trouble with the equipment -- again ran on generator. CV period work; given that I have but one more night it was lucky I was able to plug some gaps in the power spectra. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Jul 1 [5:30:48]
