MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Nov 15 Observer(s): Pinkney Institution(s): University of Michigan Instrument: Modular Spectrograph Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: First night on ModSpec using Templeton. It was also a first using the pcguider+DTI. I lost a little time in the learning curve. I targeted nearby galaxies in our search for black holes. Templeton did cause fringes with about a 10% amplitude. I took many quartz flats with the hope of correcting this. The fringing pattern was fairly repeatable in the flats. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Nov 16 [7:41:42]
