MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Sep 28 Observer(s): Eilat Glikman, Suvi Gezari Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: TIFKAM Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The TVguider would not guide. Its coordinates seemed to be offset from those in the 2.4m manual, so that when moving it to a location away from the chip, it seemed to obscure it quite a bit. The software for TVguider worked fine, but it would not guide on any star and the stars drifted out of the box. JHK grism was not working either. It did not disperse and created a strange illumination pattern on the chip that was the shape of the slit itself - but there was no light illuminating it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Sep 29 [5:43:15]
