MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Feb 12 Observer(s): Pinkney Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: ModSpec+Echelle Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Bob and I focussed the spectrograph because the Wilbur CCD had to be replaced by Echelle. Although the comp line widths looked good, the first focus frame of the night revealed a varying width of the spectrum. So the collimator had to be adjusted closer to the nominal value and the rest of the plate values had to be reset. I ended up with a better spectral focus, as well as spatial focus, but this took up a few hours after sunset. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Feb 13 [7:51:35]
