MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Jan 08 Observer(s): Halpern, Jackson Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Mk III Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Spectroscopy of AGNs and a possible nova. One exposure was ruined by a CCD read error. Had to type 'wf' to retrieve the data, but there was a periodic pattern of dots on the image. Problem did not recur. Will not file trouble report. Modem connection to the outside world was lost, but it was cured by unplugging the modem and plugging it back in. No other problems, except continued partial clouds and mediocre seeing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Jan 9 [6:38:52]
