MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Jan 21 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Mostly orbital period determination of cataclysmics and related objects. Very nice night; some heavy high cloud to the south stayed away and dissipated after sunset (yes, it did, the moon was up); after that it was pretty good though the seeing was sometimes not cooperative. Toward the end seeing became quite good. The equipment was notably trouble free, the dome returned dead-on at the end of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Jan 22 [7:17:09]
