MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Mar 02 Observer(s): Vestergaard Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing ~2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing ~2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing ~2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Generally the seeing was around 2 arcsec, but at particular times (and sometimes locations on sky; even at Zenith) the seeing would suddenly jump to ~4-5 arcsecs. A little cirrus may have been passing a few times. Had problems with the telescope `skidding' and `jumping' around, tracking poorly all of a sudden - for about 3 hours from midnight onwards. No specific solution was adapted as such. I just kept restoring the telescope to the desired position. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Mar 3 [6:42:58]
