MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 May 18 Observer(s): Vestergaard Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing ~2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing ~1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate, ~20 miles/hr winds Observing Summary: The cirrus present at sunset dissipated about an hour or so thereafter. There was at most a thin layer of cirrus (around moon at least), but didn't affect the observing much. Around 2am the seeing was very unstable (jumpy). The heavier cirrus and clouds that I saw later, interrupting the observing, was probably coming in over us then. At sunrise there was patchy cirrus/clouds over most of the sky. The clouds/cirrus didn't affect the observing significantly. Telescope and instrument behaved well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 May 19 [5:03:44]
