MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 May 31

Instrument: MKIII - echelle

Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Overcast, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Found some holes to shoot through in the first half.
Telescope and instrument performed fine, with one minor
exception when the RA and DEC encoders were not responding
after slewing to an object.  I could not move the telescope
with the hand paddle.  I slewed to another object and the
problem went away and did not return.
