MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Nov 03

Instrument: Wilbur + MODSPEC

Worked for 10.5 hours (all night)
Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

I observed 2 galaxies on both major and minor axes, and 1
galaxy along its major axis, as well as accompanying template
stars and calibration frames. I had a problem about an hour
into the night, when I tried to begin an exposure and after
typing  go  in the ccdcom window, chichon printed a message
saying  panic: memory failure  and proceeded to reboot the
machine. I was able to get the machine to come back up, and
restarted the xmis, xtcs and ccdcom windows, after which 
I was able to resume observations.
