MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Nov 14 Observer(s): Zosia Krusberg Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: Echelle Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Seeing 0 .9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1 .0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1 .3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: The night passed smoothly with the exception of moderately strong winds throughout the night. I couldn't observe neither one of my clusters nor a standard field as they lay in the direction of the wind. The guider went wild, bouncing up and down preventing any observing in that direction. But we just turned toward the opposite direction and everything was fine. At several points throughout the night the telescope seemed to be giving off some high frequency noise. I went into the dome to check it out but couldn't determine where it came from. Perhaps it was the wind but it sounded worrisome at times. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Nov 15 [7:32:55]
