MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Oct 26 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle Worked for 2 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Brief interval of bad but usable weather from roughly 9 to 11 MST. Spectroscopy of a CV, tied successfully to previous night's time series. Then RH came up too high, and after I closed fog blew over the observatory from time to time for the rest of the night. The guider PC disk began making a whine which is very difficult to live with. After turning the PC off I realize that nearly all the noise in the observing room is from the guider PC. The trouble report I issued also whines, albeit metaphorically. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Oct 27 [3:49:26]
