MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Aug 27 Observer(s): Jules Halpern Institution(s): Columbia U Instrument: Echelle CCD Direct Worked for 1.0 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until 01:00. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: For the first time this semester, conditions became suitable for observing at 01:30 hrs. First collimated the 1.3m primary. Then used the 2.4m long enough to establish pointing and and rough focus. Humidity rose again at 03:15 and I closed up. No science data obtained. Noticed a drop of condensation in the middle of the CCD dewar window (see Ximtool window on Chichon monitor #2). Presumably this will evaporate or be cleared with dry nitrogen. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Aug 28 [3:31:20]
