MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Dec 29

Conditions were Overcast most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.

Observing Summary:

Night with a curse. Started with clouds. When it got clearer
around two am, the secondary board of the 8k did not come
online. Nasty deja-vu from last year when the board died.
I was able to bring the board back online by switching the
power to the ccd off and on. I had to close the dome first so
that I could turn on the lights
because all bateries of all flash lights decided to go flat.
By the time I had everything online again the clouds came back.
Positive point: I was able to zip all my data and start making
backups on tape on agung (vesuvius and chichon couldn't handle
the tape).
