MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Dec 30

Worked for 3 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Overcast most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from 11 until end.
   Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm
   Mid: Overcast, Winds High
   End: Overcast, Winds High

Observing Summary:

After some initial problems with the ccd, some observing could
be done until about 11 when the clouds became too thick to
continue.
Ccd did not play up during the observations, it seemed to
behave again. Backup remains troublesome, Agung is unwilling to
deal with dds3 12Gb tapes. Only 8k tape drive works relatively
ok. It got hung the first time around but after rebooting
Vesuvius it worked ok again.
