MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Jun 22 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Echelle CCD Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1-3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: Once again, perfectly clear with highly variable seeing and rather higher than usual winds (though well short of limit). Spectroscopy of cataclysmic binaries. In order to break daily cycle count ambiguities I need to work far to the east sometimes, and the tracking is tending to stick way over there. I picked up an object at +55 as it crossed the limit at 6h E, and the telescope stuck several times in the first 15 min or so. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Jun 23 [5:04:10]
