MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Mar 18 Observer(s): halpern, patterson, armstrong Institution(s): columbia Instrument: echelle No Observing (see comments below) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Observing Summary: OH WHY, OH WHY? (To the tune of 'Oh Danny Boy') Oh why, oh why Must hail* and snow** be falling Atop our lonely mountainside all night? The desert sky Is not the blue we're calling To show a thousand twinklings of light. But we'll be back Tomorrow after dinner, For we are hopeless optimists up here. If clouds still black- En sight, we'll sit and simmer, And in an hour more may it be clear! * - okay, so i lied about the hail. ** - and i also lied about the snow. But i was trying to fit in 'plain old clouds', and it just wasn't working. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Mar 19 [1:34:01]
