MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Oct 01

Instrument: Wilbur + MODSPEC

Worked for 13 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, cloud/storms to N
   Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

I obtained major axis spectra of 3 galaxies and the minor
axis spectrum of a fourth galaxy, as well as spectra of assorted
template stars. I had a problem midway through the night when
Chichon printed a  panic: asynchronous memory failure  message
and then proceeded to reboot. It eventually came back up fully
and I was able to continue observations for the night.
