MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Oct 21 Observer(s): pizagno Institution(s): Ohio State Instrument: CCDS 600(2) Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: At certain alititude and azimuth the telescope will not stop slewing to a certain ra&dec. After aquiring the field, the telescope would continue slewing past the target. I lost 1 target at the end of the night due to the telescope motion. Also, the tilt meters may not read zero when the telescope is placed at the sidereal time (from TCS)& 51 57 12. This made things a little tricky when trying to point the telescope. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Oct 22 [6:03:25]
