MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 Feb 21 Observer(s): Aeree Chung Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: Nellie Worked for 7 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: In spite of patches of clouds and cirrus, the seeing was not so bad and the sky actually looked clear at the beginning. However, there occured a technical problem with the dome. Bob came up and fixed (THANKS!). Due to high humidity (95%), the dome remained closed for a while after being repaired. The observation restarted when the RH finally went down to 70~%. It generally went well but it was on and off for the whole night because of high humidity. It did not get any better and eventually the dome was shut 30 minutes before sunrise (the RH stayed ~84-86% most of the time in the end of the night). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Feb 22 [6:46:30]
