MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 Jun 22 Observer(s): Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 4 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: We're in a mini-monsoon, did a lightning shutdown before dinner - there was a brief heavy rain at dinnertime, but no lightning really close by as it turned out. Cleared around 10:30 PM, opened and observed until about 2:30 when it clouded up. Random note: I managed to walk right into the SW corner of the building outside at night, didn't have my light on (duh) and got a little disoriented. The damage: superficial cuts and bruises on my face, and popped the RH lens out of my glasses. Fortunately managed to find and re-mount the lens, which is a Good Thing as I have a strong correction and definitely can't drive without glasses. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Jun 23 [4:02:24]
