MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 May 16 Observer(s): Nathaniel Paust/ Ben Cassady Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Generally pretty bad seeing all night, but not bad enough to not observe. There was a problem with the ccdcom crashing during twilight flats, but we were able to fix it and only lost one flat. Also, in the morning, there was a spring sitting on the platform. Its origins are unknown. Night started out fairly cloudy, then swithed to sustained winds around 20 mph. The winds were coming from the exact direction we were trying to observe, causing poor seeing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 May 17 [5:30:32]
