MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Aug 31 Observer(s): Brogt Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: 8k Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 215 until 315. Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Before the bias at the end of the afternoon, the master refused to switch on. Had to reset the buttons on the back of Vesuvius to get it to work again. Other than that, a rather uneventful night, except for high humidity. Had to close for one hour because both the monitor in the computer room and the old humidity meter were over the limit. The new monitor seems to be around 10 percent lower in humidity readout, but the correlation is not perfect. It'd be nice to know which of those meters to rely on for telescope closure. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2005 Sep 1 [5:17:10]
