MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Feb 02

Worked for 6.5 hours (part of the night)
Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   High Winds from 21:00 until 23:30.
   Beg: Seeing 3-4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Seeing 3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High
   End: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate

Observing Summary:

Two program objects were observed but at 21:00 LT the dome was
closed because the wind speed was close to the 40 mph limit and the seeing was in the range of 3 to 4 arcsec. At around 23:30 the wind was back to acceptable speeds in the range of 10 to 20 mph. The observation were resumed. At 3:30 chichon crashed and after a minute it rebooted automatically. However, I had to start xtcs, xmis and prospero. But I failed restarting prospero . I checked the prospero manual (App.B). Unfortunately, I couldn't restart prospero and I didn't feel competant enough to switch off computers and to reboot it, e.g. WC, IC. Thus I did a regular shutdown sequence.
