MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Mar 14 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle direct + 2in FW Worked for 5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 19:00 until 0:00. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A cold front pushed through in the late afternoon and evening, giving sharply colder temperatures, heavy cloud, a few snowflakes, and gusty winds. It finally cleared around 0:30 MST, but the seeing was poor with the mirror 5 deg C above ambient. By dawn it was perfectly photometric.
