MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Mar 16 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle direct + 2in FW Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Cirrus, fairly heavy at times, cleared out by dawn. Nearly calm, a little warmer than last night, seeing was surprisingly mediocre until it hardened up at the end. Telescope behaved itself fine, didn't skip even once. But since I always need something to complain about, two minor things: (1) the string which can be used to hold the outer dorm door open broke; and (2) the curtain on the N window in the lounge does not close completely. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2005 Mar 17 [6:39:24]
