MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 23

Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Rain from 16:30 until 17:30.

Observing Summary:

There was a thunderstorm at 17.00hrs. I did a lightning shutdown and 
restarted things at 20.00 hrs. The sky began to clear by 22.00 hrs.
At 22.45 i tried to check the telescope pointing. I could not find any 
bright stars after several attempts. Called Sebastien Lepine for help. 
He figured out that most probably the finder mirror was not moving 
out properly (see trouble report for details). This whole thing 
took about 1.25 hrs. The sky became overcast again at 00:00 hrs. Shut down 
early at 4:00 am.
