MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 29 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle CCD + 2in FW Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: The night started out cloudy, but cleared off well enough by 8:30 or so. Cloudy intervals recurred throughout the night, but it was mostly usable and often very good. The seeing was quite good but blew up occasionally. Steven Magee stayed up for a while to observe the observing. I had one brand-new problem with the dome, and I'm also getting a better sense of the current telescope idiosyncracies, which I'll put in a separate trouble report. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Aug 30 [6:10:00]
