MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 30 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing <1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Bad weather during the day, but it gradually grew better during the evening as clouds dissipated, and ended up photometric with good seeing before dawn. I didn't have any trouble but did notice a weird telescope behavior that I bet will turn out to be key for understanding the stutter loop and crawling-to-the-target that I've been seeing sometimes during autoset -- I'll file a trouble report for that. Steven Magee stayed up for a while to watch the proceedings. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Aug 31 [6:18:41]
