MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Feb 11 Observer(s): Statler, Watanabe, Haas Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: Echelle Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Observed all night with terrible seeing. In testing ccdcom focus command, we found that in, apparently, ALL images written by ccdcom, the TIME-OBS keyword in the image header, which is SUPPOSED to correspond to the UTC at the start of the exposure, is in fact the time at the END OF THE READOUT. This can, and may well have, caused serious problems for any time-resolved monitoring projects and photometric calibration. This absolutely should be fixed so that the actual time at the start of the exposure is written to this header keyword. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Feb 12 [7:22:34]
