MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Jun 18 Observer(s): Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5-2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1-1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1-2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Another clear night, but the weather has been hotter and the seeing was highly variable. The telescope behaved itself much better tonight, just one non-completed set and the dome never freaked out like it did the other night. The asynch read errors appear to have been cured. OSU 50-L storage dewar is empty, am using the white one which has a very short length of rather old hose, maybe time to spring for a few feet of surgical tubing. Also, I learned to my startlement that the stereo remote control can trigger the smoke alarm in the control room! I kid you not. There's another smoke alarm doing low-battery chirps somewhere. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Jun 19 [5:05:13]
