MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Jun 22 Observer(s): Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 5 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Very cloudy afternoon, but it cleared off nicely before sunset and was pretty good for a few hours. Daytime temps had been suppressed by the clouds, so the dome and telescope equilibriated easily and the seeing was decent at the start. Later at night variable high cloud came in, always in the way and sometimes completely thick. Closed around 1:00 and reopened around 2:40 when conditions were somewhat better; after a few exposures it got thick again, and it was time to button it up for good. This has been a very successful run; many thanks to Bob, Tony, and Paul for their help. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Jun 23 [4:11:56]
