MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Mar 11 Observer(s): John Thorstensen, Holly Sheets Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle CCD with 2in FW No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Very bad weather all night. Observing Summary: Horrendous weather; rain, fog, snow. Abrupt temperature drop around 2 AM made it all snow. In the morning as I write this report it's brilliant sunshine and -5 Celsius. Commercial power is out, the generator has been running for quite a while now. Equipment seems fine, but we noticed that the SECPIX keywords are not being written in the CCDCOM headers. This breaks my star-finding procedures. I (JRT) tried to trace the bug but did not manage to find it yet. It was OK in January and I suspect this is traceable to the fix of the CCDCOM timing bug. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Mar 12 [8:06:03]
