MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Mar 16

Instrument: Modspec + echelle CCD

Worked for 8 hours (most of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from 1 MST until 6 MST.
   Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

A very unpromising cloudy afternoon cleared at the last minute to
give an excellent first half of the night -- calm, clear, good
seeing -- but high cloud started coming in around 1 AM, and after
that it was a struggle, with observations limited to bright 
backup targets. Even so, far better than I would have guessed even
at dinnertime.

Minor glitch - the TV in the dome that displays the TCS info isn't
functioning for some reason.  This makes it difficult to set the 
instrument rotator accurately.
