MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Mar 17 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A nice clear night except for about one hour around 10 PM, when a platoon of high clouds marched past. Heavy high cloud hung in the east all night long, but very clear overhead for the most part, with a bright (3 d past full) moon to show anything that might have come through. Windier than previous nights but not excessive - gusts beyond 20 mph. Low humidity. Seeing pretty decent for the most part. A storm is forecast for tomorrow night.
