MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 May 18 Observer(s): Sebastien Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct + Echelle Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Clear night though a little windy at first (15-20 mph). I found that closing the garage door improved the seeing a bit (from 1.3arcsec to 1.1arcsec) by reducing telescope shaking. The seeing remained pretty good aftewards. I did 8 more parallax targets and SN2006X again. Around 8:00PM, I had trouble with the camera electronics again, with bizarre error messages on CCDCOM. A hardware reset and power supply recycling didn't fix it. After discussion with Bob, I recycled the fiber optics interface as well, and everything went OK aftewards. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 May 19 [5:36:25]
