MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 May 21 Observer(s): Sebastien Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct + Echelle Worked for 7 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds High End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: Final night of this parallax run, which was overall excellent, the best astrometric run I've had so far. Thanks to Bob, Paul, and Tony for their excellent support! Tonight was however not so good, with a lot of wind and seeing just good enough for the parallax work. At the beginning of the night, I couldn't start the telescope drives. With help from Bob over the phone, we finally fixed the problem (it was the red stop button) but lost almost 90 minutes trying to figure it out. I also noticed that the AC data indicates that the mirror has not been cooled since Saturday. Something may be wrong with the mirror cooling system. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 May 22 [4:40:09]
