MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Oct 16 Observer(s): Prieto Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS + RETROCAM Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing >1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Obtained spectra of SDSS-II and nearby supernovae, and imaging of one lensed QSO when the seeing was good at the beginning of the night. All night had variable (high) winds, between 5-25mph with average ~15mph. I started observing with ~0.9 arcsec seeing, but the weather only became worst (> 1.2 arcsec seeing most of the night), although was clear all time. High humidity (~78% peak) made me close for ~40 min at UT 06:45, but it was stable after that (~50%). See the trouble report about readout pattern in CCDS images. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Oct 17 [5:45:09]
