MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Oct 22 Observer(s): Watson & Prieto Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS and Retrocam Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The weather was good again, not as good seeing as last night, but still decent (~1.2 arcsec). We observed supernovae the first half of the night. At 3am (mst) we put the 50g/mm grating to do more tests. We observed the spectrophotometric standard Hiltner 600 at the zenith with a 2 and 8 slit, and with two order separating filters (370 and 450). The throughput of the grating seems to be low as before (this doesn't mean we were expecting it to change, but its good to confirm the same result). If possible, Bob, could you please change the grating back to 150g/mm ?. Also, its rather difficult to move the MIS hatch from open to closed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Oct 23 [6:14:10]
