MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Sep 02

Worked for 0.2 hours (part of the night)
Bad weather most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from 19:30 until end.
   Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Overcast, Winds Moderate
   End: Overcast, Winds Moderate

Observing Summary:

Looked as if it might be usable in the afternoon, and the evening
started with a big hole overhead, but it quickly clouded over and
shortly after that began to rain.  Heavy cloud and/or high 
humidity persisted for the rest of the night.  I got one standard
star observation before the clouds rolled in.  

A minor glitch starting up -- I'd done a lightning shutdown at
the end of the previous night, and my first images of the night
showed no light.  I traced this to a balky shutter.  To cure it
I found the UniBlitz shutter controller box and pressed the 
reset switch on it, and exercised the shutter manually with the
other switch.  It seemed fine after that.
