MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Sep 03

Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD

Worked for 1 hours (part of the night)
Conditions were Overcast most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Overcast, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Heavy cloud cover during the day (and rain, and fog) cleared 
just enough to open early in the evening, but intermittent high
cloud and worrisomely high humidity curtailed observations.  
Cloud cover and humidity deteriorated further the later it got.

I wasted some of the good time early in the evening de-fogging the
dewar with dry nitrogen -- it can take a good half-hour.  The 
drive problems persist, I'm submitting a trouble report with more
detail (though the problem is not new).
