MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Sep 25 Observer(s): Sharma, Statler & McCowan Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: 8k CCD Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, poor transparency Mid: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, poor transparency End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, poor transparency Observing Summary: A little before sunset, we had trouble with the dome, while manually homing it after taking dome flats. Bob Barr came and found a work-around. See trouble report. We observed three galaxy groups, each for ~2 hours. We wanted to observe in both B and V, but only managed to get V-band data. Finding guide stars cost the largest overhead in observing time. The night was mostly clear but the transparency was disappointing and the sky was very bright.
