MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Feb 15

Instrument: 8k mosaic

Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   High Winds from 10 until 3.
   Beg: Seeing 3.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High
   End: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds High

Observing Summary:

bad seeing all night.  Winds picked up around 9 pm with the 4m
recording 40+ mph and us recording mid to upper 20's.  Felt
occasional gusts which were clearly much stronger.  Closed the
dome around 10:30 as the quality of the data was not worth the
risk of damage from one of the bigger gusts.  Seeing eventually
improved to the merely poor level late, but still not good enough
to remain open in the wind.
