MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Feb 22 Observer(s): Marshall Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Bad seeing and wind shake all night. Problem with CCDS acqcam focus--when the star is in focus in CCDS, it is very far out of focus on the slitviewer. This makes focusing the telescope during the night very difficult. Over the last few nights, the dome has lost its pointing by up to 40 degrees during the night. It did not happen every night, but observers should be aware that it is a problem and to keep an eye on it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Feb 23 [9:24:10]
