MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jan 22 Observer(s): chris peters Institution(s): dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle Worked for 8.5 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 6 PM until 9 PM. Beg: Clear, Winds Calm, high humidity Mid: Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: After 3 nights of rubbish weather, the clouds dissipated and the humidity dropped to reveal science targets! Got spectra of CVs for RV studies. One minor glitch: I noticed a dip in the first couple spectra characteristic of condensation on the dewar window. After scratching my head for 15 minutes, I figured out where to attach the dry nitrogen, and after a half hour of pumping, the problem was solved. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jan 23 [7:19:15]
