MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jan 31 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle CCD + 2 in fw No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Observing Summary: I'm filing this report early because there's no way we're going to observe tonight. We had a major snow squall in late afternoon, which has left snow on the dome. There was fog early on, but it's blowing off now revealing lovely moonlit wintry scenes. But with the 97% humidity and snow on the dome, there's no way we're going to be able to actually work. Weather reported below for the last 2/3 is extrapolated, not actual. The next observers are here OK and hopefully will have some luck tomorrow with the 7k camera (one of the 8 chips is OOC). Thanks to all the staff for their great support this run. The telescope ran like a top! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jan 31 [20:46:11]
