MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jul 15 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 7 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 8 PM until midn. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, not photometric Observing Summary: Started out with clear patches and heavy high cloud spun off from storms to the E and S. For the first half the clouds were more there than not, and I stopped observing and partially closed up a couple of times; I still managed to get a fair amount by finding targets in the open spots. Around midnight the sky cleared off, more or less, and the seeing improved, so the rest of the night was pretty good. Never photometric, I'd bet. Equipment all worked well, no new bugs. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jul 16 [5:31:18]
